SUMMARY
Performs a wide variety of maintenance services for buildings, grounds, and equipment for the Squaxin Island Tribe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide grounds and landscaping maintenance such as mowing, watering grass and plants, removing and controlling weeds, planting shrubs and trees, sweeping walkways, clearing land, snow removal and trash disposal.
Provide maintenance and make minor repairs to buildings or other structures, including but not limited to plumbing, painting, carpentry, and routine electrical repairs.
Maintain vehicles and equipment in accordance with operations manuals.
Assist in moving and arranging furniture.
Receive and distribute supplies.
Renovate houses and buildings.
Safely operate tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, power tools and other equipment.
Keep accurate and complete maintenance and repair records.
Other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Have demonstrated experience with basic electrical circuits and plumbing techniques; and
Have demonstrated experience in general woodworking techniques and power tools.
Must be able to operate job-related equipment including motor vehicles, tractors, mowers, and a variety of power tools such as chainsaws and weed eaters.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years building maintenance related experience. OR 4 years of related maintenance experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Washington State Driver’s License and proof of insurance is required.
