Bag Limit: 140 pounds per harvester.

Size Limit: All clams must be 1.5" or larger in length to be legally harvested.

Justification: Harvest the treaty share of shellfish from privately owned and public tidelands.

Other Restrictions: All harvest must be sold to Salish Seafoods.

Harvesters must be on the list to participate in these harvests. The harvester list will be finalized one half hour prior to the dig. There will be no designated diggers allowed for these digs. No spousal assistance will be allowed on Private Tideland beaches. No children or spouses are allowed to attend. Harvesters must be present and on the list to have a quota. Harvesters must have previously signed a harvester agreement in order to participate.

No subsistence harvesting is allowed.

Harvesters may only dig within the marked areas on the beach. Harvesters must ride with monitor to participate, beaches by boat access only.

Clams must be sold to department designated buyer.

The shellfish monitor will distribute Bag tags on the day of the scheduled harvest. Harvesters are responsible for properly filling out and attaching these bag tags to all containers of shellfish before selling clams to a buyer. Harvesters must present their current shellfish license to the buyer and ensure all information recorded on the Treaty Indian Fish Receiving Ticket is correct. The harvesters are required to sign their own Treaty Indian Fish Receiving Ticket.

The following information is provided pursuant to the shellfish implementation plan adopted by the federal district court in United States v. Washington, 898 F. Supp. 1453 (W.D. Wash. 1995).

Estimated Harvest: 4,000 pounds

Bag Limit: 140 pounds per harvester.

Size Limit: All clams must be 1.5" or larger in length to be legally harvested.

Justification: Harvest the treaty share of shellfish from public tidelands.

Other Restrictions: All harvest must be sold to department designated buyer.

All descendants of Squaxin Island Tribal Member children under the age of 16 may assist along side of any licensed harvester. Any assistance (family or spouse) can use a separate fork to help harvest as long as they are in the same area as the licensed harvester and only using one bucket.

The shellfish monitor will distribute Bag tags on the day of the scheduled harvest. Harvesters are responsible for properly filling out and attaching these bag tags to all containers of shellfish before selling clams to a buyer. Harvesters must present their current shellfish license to the buyer and ensure all information recorded on the Treaty Indian Fish Receiving Ticket is correct. The harvesters are required to sign their own Treaty Indian Fish Receiving Ticket.

Shellfish Type: 509- Manila clams

Estimated Effort: 25 harvesters per harvest day

Estimated Harvest: 3,500 lbs per harvest day

Bag Limit: 140 pounds per harvester

Size Limit: All clams must be 1.5" or larger in length to be legally harvested.

Justification: Available clam resource.

Other Restrictions:
In the event of a Rain Closure in Oakland Bay these digs may be canceled due to lack of access. Check the Shellfish Hotline for the status of each dig at 432-3899.

These are senior only digs, only seniors on the list may participate in these harvests. The list will be maintained by the Natural Resources Office and in the possession of the harvest monitor.

Non-senior assistance is not allowed, only a senior may assist another senior. Any assistance (family or spouse) can use a separate fork to help harvest as long as they are in the same area as the licensed harvester and only using one bucket.
